What is Soil Bioremediation

Soil which has been polluted with hydrocarbons (oil, petrol, diesel, paraffin, aviation fuel, creosote etc) is cleaned using microbial agents which digest the contaminant and use it as a food source.

All our activities and services are designed with the eventual outcome of a clean environment in mind. To this end, we have been refining our remediation products and protocols over a number of years and consider GK the industry leader in this field. Our in-house expertise in designing and running remediation projects, combined with our highly complex remediation medium means that we offer the best results at the best price for all hydrocarbon remediation works.

How It Works

An intricate formulation of fungi, yeasts, molds, anaerobic and aerobic bacteria (Biopack) are introduced into the contaminated soil.  This soil is then watered and aerated. In a series of interlinked processes, the microbes progressively digest the hydrocarbon releasing harmless carbon dioxide. Once the food source is completely digested, the microbes die off leaving clean and highly enriched soil which can then be used as top soil.
